Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary – Pacific, Boating Safety Unit 102,  is pleased to announce that the Kids Don’t Float Loaner Station at Harrison Lake is open and ready for the boating season.

 We offer the free use of life jackets for children, based on the honour system.

 Life jackets are available on the back wall of the office at the public boat ramp.

 A special thanks to Bill Hopkins, volunteer with CCGA-P who maintains the loaner station. 

 Please be sure that life  jackets are returned after use so that others can benefit from this valuable service.

The District of Mission will be holding an open house on Sunday May 3, 12 noon to 5pm at Mission Fire/Rescue Service,  Fire Station #1 33330-7th Ave Mission. Members of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Unit 102 will be on site with their community events trailer with a display of boating safety equipment, and Pudka the Safety Bear.

 Mission Search and Rescue, Mission Amateur Radio, R.C.M.P., B.C. Ambulance, Mission Fire/Rescue Services and other members of the District of Mission Emergency Preparedness team will be available to answer any of your questions. Be sure to mark your calendar and drop in for an afternoon of fun.

Members of the C.C.G.A.-P  and the Fraser Valley Marine Society will be holding a hot dog sale to raise funds to help support boating safety in the Fraser Valley. Our community events trailer will be on site with a display of boating safety equipment.

 Bring the kids by to see Putka the safety bear.If you do not already have your Pleasure Craft Operators Card be sure to drop by and challenge the test ($40.00). There will also be a registation sheet to sign up for the Pleasure Craft Operators Card course.
